Minor ailments
The practice is part of the minor ailments scheme. It allows patients to get advice, treatment and medication from the pharmacist (chemist) without having to see the doctor.
Sick certificates
If you are off work due to illness for up to 6 days you can fill in a self-certificate, which you can get from your employer. If you are ill for more than 6 days you will need a doctor's certificate for your employer. If your employer requests a sick form from you and you are ill for less than 6 days, a private fee will be charged.
Babies
All babies immunisations and 8 week developmental checks will be done by appointments with your GP. There is a clinic at Newington Green on Friday afternoons 1.30-3.30pm and alternate Friday mornings 10.00-12.00midday for weighing babies and general advice.

Women's health
Cervical smear tests - all women between 25 and 50 should have regular smears, ideally every 3 years. We encourage all our women patients to come to the Well Woman Clinic or make an appointment with a practice nurse. We have a recall system, which will automatically recall patients every 3 years for a smear.
Coils - we are able to fit coils. Make an appointment through the practice nurse for the Family Planning Clinic on a Tuesday evening.
We also offer sexual health screening.
Flu vaccinations
We have a flu campaign every September when we offer immunisation to patients over 65 or those in the 'at-risk' groups.
Pneumonia vaccinations
We offer the pneumonia vaccination to all patients over 65 or those in the 'at-risk' groups.
Interpreters
We can arrange for language interpreters to be at pre-booked appointments. However, there are very few interpreters available. If possible please bring an adult with you to interpret. If you need an interpreter to be booked please tell reception. Unfortunately it may be about two weeks before we can book an interpreter.
However, we are able to use a telephone interpreting service. We can also arrange sign language interpreters for patients, but again it may take a week before we can book an interpreter.
